I have to admit it. I’m the girl who went to a prep school her whole life wearing a uniform, and then moved to the Upper East Side to continue my snobbery. But the truth is, I was always a downtown girl. I used to take the train to the “bad” parts of this city and hangout with the actual cool kids. When I was growing up, Williamsburg was ACTUALLY cool and dangerous. So was the Lower East Side. I would literally dress one way during the day for my small private school, then put on some serious bad ass boots/ripped clothing and head over to the burg or the LES.
When I threw this outfit together, I didn’t think I’d write a post but then it hit me. It is SO ME. I went to put on a nice white blouse (so private school ) and a stylish suede camel skirt (XOXO gossip girl). Then what did I do? Of course I put on my most biker-esque boots and my most rock ’n’ roll bag. The fight between uptown versus downtown still lives within, ladies and gents! Ha!
Really though, I could never wear this outfit with heels and a clutch. Way too girly for my personal style. I have to make it look street style chic otherwise it doesn’t feel like me.
